Chesterfield Ridge Boys Put Up Valiant Effort In Opener Against Dairyview

DAIRYVIEW—Turnovers were the story when the Dairyview Spiders withstood an heroic effort by the Chesterfield Ridge Fighting Tuccimen boys’ basketball team to win a nail biter by the score of 64-58.
“We just couldn’t hold onto the ball,” said Tuccimen point guard Tyler Gates after the game, sweat shimmering on his browned skin like a forbidden oasis. “Ultimately, that’s what cost us.”
The Chesterfield boys had difficulty dealing with Dairyview’s smothering full court pressure all afternoon. The Spiders tugged at shirts, grabbed at flesh and wore out the young Tuccimen before halftime.
“It definitely tired us out,” said Chesterfield’s young stud center Brad Lawson. “We just didn’t have the answers today.”
Lawson was one of the bright spots in Chesterfield’s offense, which had trouble working from their half-court set all game. He was able to use his overpowering physique and rippling muscles to dominate the Spiders into submission in the low post. The Tuccimen succeeded in making the contest a physical one, and the referees were liberal about allowing banging around the hole.
Unfortunately for the Fighting Tuccimen and their eager fans, the long-awaited penetration never came.
“We need to drive to the hoop to create outside shots, or else we’re going to be a one-trick pony,” said beloved senior Danny Kannberg, brushing a lock of soft brown hair out of his deep blue eyes, his chiseled jaw making a striking impression on everyone in the room, meaty thighs still throbbing from the gallant exertion. “I guess it just wasn’t our night.”
For now, Chesterfield Ridge will have to take the lessons learned from this game and apply it to next week’s matchup against the virile young bucks of Burlington Academy. On behalf of the whole town, let’s hope this is the night the Tuccimen get lucky.
